At TOPdesk, we hire a lot of young people. How do we teach newcomers the ways
of TOPdesk? How do we get them up to speed quickly and efficiently? How do we challenge our employees to keep learning?
For example, developing an international software product like TOPdesk requires a lot of detailed knowledge about languages, accents, time zones and daylight savings time. How will a junior programmer learn all that?
One of our workshops for programmers is set up in the form of a series of puzzles, inspired by the famous advent of code. We’ll go through a few puzzles and try to connect them to theories about learning and learning organizations.
Target audience
I’m targeting a wide audience, everybody is welcome. Especially interesting for teachers and trainers. It will be geeky, but no programming knowledge is required!
What will you take away from this?
• See a cool example of a very interactive workshop.
• Find out what motivates people to learn.
• Get a glance of the complexities of writing international software.
